Dive into a flavor fiesta with these scrumptious Surf and Turf Tacos! Perfectly seasoned shrimp and juicy beef come together for a taco night to remember!

Ingredients:

– 300g shrimp, peeled and deveined

– 300g beef sirloin or flank steak halal

– 1/2 cup diced onions

– 1 tbsp olive oil (divided)

– 1 tsp smoked paprika

– 1/2 tsp chili powder

– 1 tsp garlic powder (divided)

– 1/4 cup chopped cilantro

– Salt and pepper to taste

– 8 small tortillas (corn or flour)

– 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese

– Lime wedges for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Start by marinating the beef. Coat the beef sirloin or flank steak with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, smoked paprika, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Let it sit and absorb the flavors for about 15 minutes.
  2. While the beef is marinating, prepare the shrimp. In a bowl, combine the peeled and deveined shrimp with another tablespoon of olive oil, chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss well to ensure they’re evenly coated.
  3. Once the beef has marinated, heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Transfer it to a cutting board and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.
  4. In the same skillet, add the seasoned shrimp. Cook them for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove from heat.
  5. Warm the tortillas by placing them in a dry skillet or directly over an open flame until they’re heated through and slightly charred. This adds a lovely flavor to the tortillas.
  6. Now it’s time to assemble your tacos! Take a warm tortilla and layer it with a few slices of the juicy steak, some shrimp, a handful of diced onions, and a generous sprinkle of shredded cheese. Top it off with fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice for a zesty kick.
  7. Serve your Surf and Turf Tacos hot and enjoy them with your favorite salsa or hot sauce on the side!
