Southern Fried Shrimp Recipe

Ingredients:

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup cornmeal

1/2 cup flour

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

Vegetable oil for frying

 

Directions:

In a bowl, soak shrimp in buttermilk for 30 minutes.

In another bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Dredge shrimp in the cornmeal mixture, coating evenly.

Fry shrimp in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
