Juicy Hamburger Steak in Rich Onion Gravy
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 large onions, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Fresh parsley for garnish
Directions:
In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until just combined. Form into 4 patties.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, add butter and onions. Sauté for 10 minutes until onions are caramelized.
Sprinkle flour over the onions, stirring constantly for 1-2 minutes until the flour is browned.
Slowly whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer, stirring until thickened.
Return the patties to the skillet, spooning gravy over them. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
