Ingredients:
250 g shrimp, peeled and deveined
250g fettuccine pasta
2 tbsp butter
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 cup cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley or basil for garnish (optional)
Directions:
Cook the fettuccine pasta in a large pot of salted water until al dente, according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and saute until fragrant but not brown, about 1-2 minutes.
Add the shrimp to the pan and fry for 2-3 minutes, until pink and cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside.
Pour the cream into the pan and bring to the boil. Add the grated Parmesan cheese and stir well until the sauce has thickened and the cheese has melted. This usually takes around 3-5 minutes. You can reduce the heat if the sauce thickens too quickly.
Add the cooked pasta to the Alfredo sauce in the pan and toss gently to ensure the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce.
Add the fried shrimp back to the pan and heat briefly until warm again.
Season with salt and pepper and garnish with fresh parsley or basil if desired.
Serve the Shrimp Alfredo Pasta hot and enjoy!
