Cubed Steak with Onion Gravy

**Ingredients:**

– 1 1/2 pounds cubed steak

– 1/3 cup flour

– 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

– 1/2 cup Vegetable oil

– 1 large onion (sliced)

– 1 (14-ounce) can beef broth

– 1 package dry onion soup mix

 

**Instructions:**

  1. In a shallow dish, combine the flour, garlic salt, and black pepper. Dredge each cubed steak in the flour mixture, coating both sides evenly.

 

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

 

  1. Add the floured cubed steaks to the hot skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they are browned and crispy. Remove the cubed steaks from the skillet and set them aside.

 

  1. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook until they become translucent and start to caramelize.

 

  1. Sprinkle the dry onion soup mix over the onions and stir.

 

  1. Gradually add the beef broth to the skillet, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

 

  1. Return the browned cubed steaks to the skillet, submerging them in the onion gravy.

 

  1. Cover the skillet and simmer for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cubed steaks are tender and the gravy has thickened.
