Cheese and Onion Garlic Swirl Loaf

The Cheese and Onion Garlic Swirl Loaf is a delicious baked bread that features a flavorful combination of cheese, onions, and garlic. It’s a savory twist on a classic bread recipe that is perfect for serving as an appetizer, snack, or alongside a meal. Here’s a basic recipe to make your own Cheese and Onion Garlic Swirl Loaf:

Ingredients:

– 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

– 2 teaspoons active dry yeast

– 1 teaspoon sugar

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup warm water

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

– 1 cup grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your preferred type)

– ½ cup finely chopped onions

– 4 cloves garlic, minced

– 2 tablespoons butter, melted

– 1 tablespoon dried parsley (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until the yeast becomes frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle shape on a floured surface.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the grated cheese, chopped onions, minced garlic, melted butter, and dried parsley (if using).
  7. Spread the cheese and onion mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  8. Starting from one of the longer edges, tightly roll up the dough into a log. Pinch the edges to seal.
  9. Using a sharp knife, slice the log into 1-inch thick rounds.
  10. Place the slices on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each slice.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the swirls turn golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  12. Remove from the oven and let the swirl loaf cool slightly before serving.

Enjoy your homemade Cheese and Onion Garlic Swirl Loaf! It’s best served warm, and you can enjoy it on its own or with your favorite dips or spreads.
