CARMELITA COOKIE BARS MADE WITH OATS CARAMEL AND CHOCOLATE
Quick and easy to make, no-mixer required. These cookie bars are so delicious and will be gone in minutes!
Ingredients:
2 Cups Oats
1 3/4 Cups Plain Flour
1 1/2 Cups Brown Sugar
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
1 Tin Caramel Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 Pkt Butter (227g/8oz) melted
300g/11oz Milk Chocolate Chips
Method:
Line a 9″x 13″ baking pan with baking paper and lightly coat it with a nonstick cooking spray.
Combine the oats, flour, sugar, baking soda and salt then stir in the melted butter.
Place 1/2 the mixture into the pan and lightly press down with a spoon. Sprinkle 200g/7oz of the chocolate chips on top then cover with the caramel sauce. Cover with remaining oat mixture and “VERY LIGHTLY” press down and spread by hand.
Top and scatter the remaining chocolate chips and bake in oven 180C/350F for 25 minutes.
Leave to cool completely before removing from the pan and cutting into squares.
