~~INGREDIENTS~~
2 apples, peeled and cored
1 puff pastry
1/2 stick melted butter, for brushing
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons Dixie Lily extra fine granulated sugar
Powdered sugar, or cinnamon sugar
Confectioners sugar for dusting
~~Instructions ~~
Peel the apples and core them with a melon baller or a knife.
Unroll the puff pastry and cut it into long strips with a pizza cutter. Take the apple rings and pass the strips of pastry through the Apple ring and back around to create the flower shape.
In a small bowl, combine the ground cinnamon and sugar, set aside.
Place the apples on a sheet pan that has been lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops of the pastry with the melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture before baking.
Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 15 – 20 minutes, until golden brown. Sprinkle with with confectioners sugar while they are still warm. Serve immediately. Great with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a cup of coffee. Enjoy!
