Cooking steak in an air fryer can be an excellent way to achieve a crispy exterior while maintaining a juicy inside. Here’s a basic recipe to cook steak in an air fryer:

Ingredients:

1.Steak(s) of your choice (e.g., ribeye, sirloin, filet mignon, etc.)

2.Olive oil or melted butter (for brushing)

3.Salt

4.Freshly ground black pepper

5.Optional: minced garlic, rosemary, thyme or your preferred steak seasonings

Instructions:

1.Preparation:

-Remove the steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This will help it cook more evenly.

-Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for a few minutes.

2.Seasoning:

-Pat the steak dry with paper towels. This will help achieve a crispy exterior.

-Lightly brush both sides of the steak with olive oil or melted butter. This will help the seasonings adhere and also promote browning in the air fryer.

-Generously season both sides of the steak with salt and freshly ground black pepper. If you’re using other seasonings or herbs, apply them now.

3.Cooking:

-Once the air fryer is preheated, carefully place the steak into the basket, ensuring they aren’t touching if you’re cooking more than one. This allows for proper air circulation.

-For a medium-rare steak, cook for about 10-12 minutes, flipping the steak halfway through. If you prefer a more well-done steak, you can extend the cooking time. Remember, cooking times will vary based on the thickness of your steak and the specific air fryer model.

4.Resting:

-Once cooked to your desired level, remove the steak from the air fryer and let it rest on a plate for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a juicy steak.

5.Serving:

-After resting, slice against the grain (if desired) and serve immediately.

Tips:

-An instant-read thermometer can be a great tool to ensure your steak is cooked to your desired level. For medium-rare, aim for an internal temperature of 130°F-135°F (54°C-57°C).

-Always consider the size and cut of your steak. Thicker steaks may require slightly longer cooking times.

-Experiment with different marinades or seasoning combinations to suit your taste.

Enjoy your air-fried steak with your favorite sides or sauces!
