Cooking shrimp in an air fryer is quick, easy, and yields delicious results. Air frying allows you to get crispy, juicy shrimp without the need for a lot of oil. Here’s a basic recipe for air fryer shrimp:

Ingredients:

Raw shrimp, peeled and deveined (tails can be left on if you like)

2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon paprika (smoked paprika adds a nice touch)

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional: lemon wedges and fresh parsley for serving

Instructions:

1.Preparation: Thoroughly wash the shrimp, then pat dry with paper towels.

2.Marinating: In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil or melted butter, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Add the shrimp to the bowl and toss until they are well coated.

3.Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 2-3 minutes.

4.Arranging the Shrimp: Place the marinated shrimp in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they aren’t overlapping. If all the shrimp don’t fit, you might need to cook in batches.

5.Cooking: Cook the shrimp at 400°F (200°C) for about 5-7 minutes, flipping them halfway through, or until they are pink and opaque. The exact cooking time can vary depending on the size of the shrimp and the specific air fryer model.

6.Serve: Once cooked, remove the shrimp from the air fryer and transfer them to a plate. Squeeze some lemon juice over them, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve immediately.

Tips:

-Always avoid overcrowding the air fryer. This ensures even cooking and crispiness.

-Feel free to get creative with the seasoning. For a spicier kick, you can add a bit of cayenne pepper or chili powder.

-You can also marinate the shrimp in your favorite sauces like teriyaki or BBQ before air frying, but ensure the sauce isn’t too runny as it can make the shrimp soggy.

Enjoy your delicious, crispy air fryer shrimp!
